Sierocuk, Harriet (25 JUN 1955)

Vases of pink roses, peonies and white orange blossoms were on the altar of St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Saturday, June 25th, 1955, for the wedding of Miss Harriet Sierocuk and Raymond Kolaczkowski.  The single ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Francis Piekarski for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sierocuk and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kolaczkowski.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a chapel length gown of imported, hand clipped Chantilly lace and nylon tulle, styled with a sculptured bodice, jeweled trimmed collar, and long tapering sleeves.  Cascading lace tiers fashioned the bouffant skirt, which opened in front to reveal a panel of pleated tulle.  A shell hat adorned with seed pearls held the veil of silk illusion.  She carried a bouquet of Johann Hill roses and ivy.

The bride’s sister, Mrs. Lillian Hedler, was the honor attendant.  The bridal aides were Miss Geraldine Hedler, friend of the bride, of Thorp, and Miss Delores Kolack, cousin of the groom, of Chicago.

Mint green nylon tulle and crystalette over taffeta formed their frocks.  They were designed with strapless bodices and flounce tiered skirts of tulle with crystallite jackets.  Imported straw, styled the cloche hats in matching color.  Their cascade bouquets were of white daisies and ivy.

Best man was Francis Hedler, brother-in-law of the bride.  Other attendants were Pete Larson, friend of the groom, and Marion Sierocuk, brother of the bride.

Pale blue silk shantung was worn by Mrs. Sierocuk, and Mrs. Kolaczkowski chose a wedgewood blue lace dress.  Their corsages were of pink roses.

Breakfast was served for the immediate family and a reception was held in the evening for about 500 guests at St. Hedwig’s Parish Hall.

After their honeymoon in Canada, the new couple will live in Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) where their new home is near completion.

Guests from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Steve Wojtwicz and girls, Mr. Antone Sierocuk, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Obreski, Mr. and Mrs. George Wiseman and daughter, all of Chicago, Mr. Leonard Ferski, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Rutkowski of Muskegon, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. John Jajac of Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Max Kscinski and children and Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Sierocuk and children of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Glidden and daughter of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Skwierczynski and family of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Kazmer Lewan and daughter of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Joe White and son of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lewan of Pulaski, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Empey and son of Pulaski, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. John Kolaczkowski and daughter of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. William Haraburda of Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bednarczyk of Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Lex Bernhagen and son of Chippewa Falls, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Nick Skwierczynski of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Adam Cervenski of Wausau, Wis., Mrs. Charlie Peaseki of Chicago, Mr. Joe Kolaczkowski of Chicago.
