Stigen, Patricia (Marriage - 29 October 1955)

Irving Metcalf and his bride, the former Patricia Stigen, who were married Saturday evening, will make their home with the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Metcalf of Neillsville, Rt. 4.

The bride’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Nordahl Stigen of Neillsville, Rt. 3.

The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. John Jacklin at an 8:00 p.m. candlelight service at the Pine Valley Lutheran Church before an altar banked with baskets of yellow and orchid chrysanthemums.

The bride wore a combination of nylon net over satin with a tight fitting bodice fashioned with a scalloped neckline.  The neckline was trimmed with sequins.  The ballerina length dress was complete with a finger tip veil held by a crown of seed pearls and sequins. She carried a single orchid on top of a prayer book.

Miss Shirley Stigen, sister of the bride, was her maid of honor.  The broom was attended by his brother, LaVern Metcalf.  Guests were ushered by Alvin Wirkuty and Gary Northup.

A reception in the church parlor followed the ceremony.

Out of town relatives at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. George Warnecke, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Pierce, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Pierce, Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kaudy, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Stephan, Hartland, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. James Kernon, Merton, Wis., and Gary Stiemke, Milwaukee.
