Jones, Ronald Clifford (20 September 1938 - 18 December 2009)

Ronald C. Jones, 71, of Neillsville died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at Luther Midelfort Hospital in Eau Claire.

Ronald Clifford Jones was born Sept. 20, 1938, in Belvidere, IL, the son of Clifford and CoraBelle (Hicks) Jones.  He graduated from Belvidere High School in 1957.  He was united in marriage June 3, 1962, to Judith Gelander in Loves Park, IL.  Ronald earned his Bachelor of Science degree in agri-business from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 1963 and then achieved his Master’s degree in agricultural economics in 1966.  Following his education, Ron taught as a professor for three years at Wiyers Cave Community College in Virginia.  He also taught as a professor at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and the Wood County Technical College in Marshfield.  In 1972, Ronald and Judith moved their family to Neillsville, where he farmed in the Town of Hendren.

Ronald was an ordained elder of the World Wide Church of God.  He proudly officiated at the marriage of their son, Matthew.  He loved the outdoors and everything about farming from raising cattle to his tractors.  He also loved camping and traveling in the RV.  He enjoyed music, especially classical folk music.  Most of all, however, he enjoyed his family and all the activities in which it was involved.  Ron’s family was always the single most important part of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Judith; six children: Mark (Peggy) Jones of Neillsville and their children, Kevin, Laura and Jonathon; Christopher (Renee) Jones of Chapel Hill, NC, and their children, Harrison and Vanessa; Andrew (Sue) Jones of Houston, TX, and their child, Jason; Matthew (Sara) Jones of Merrill and their child, Tina; Thomas (Marcy) Jones of Alma Center and their child, Haylee; and Sarah (Peter) Windsor of Ellsworth and their children, Aaron, Leah, Noah and Emma.  Ronald is further survived by one sister, Nancy (Quent) Bourkland of Camano Island, WA, and two brothers, Edward (Janice) Jones of Lebanon, OH, and Charles (Debbie) Jones of Port Lavaca, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Ronald Jones will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday Dec. 23, 2009, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville with visitation from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.  Pastor Greg Mandigo of the Assembly of God Church in Alma Center will officiate.  Interment will be in the Town of Levis Cemetery.

Casketbearers are: Mark Jones, Christopher Jones, Andrew Jones, Matthew Jones, Thomas Jones and Peter Windsor.
