Otto, Mavis  (07 SEPT 1946

Mavis Otto, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Otto of Loyal, became the bride of Allen Luber, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Luber of Loyal, in a wedding ceremony read at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, at Trinity Lutheran church here by the Rev. J. C. Langholz. The altar was banked with flowers for the double-ring service.

Mrs. Marvin Seeman played the wedding marches and the accompaniment for Mrs. Romaine Rossow, who sang "O Promise Me" and O Take My Hand, Dear Father."

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an entrained net over satin wedding gown. Her long veil of illusion was trimmed with lace and she carried white gladioli and pink roses. Her pearl earrings and necklace were gifts of the groom.

Attendants were Mrs. Orvin Litka of Milwaukee, a sister of the bride, as matron of honor; Paul Otto, her brother, as best man; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Olsen of Spencer and Mr. and Mrs. Ford Luber of Rice Lake. Ushers were nieces of the bride and groom, Delores Pieper and Joan Oestreich.

All the bride’s attendants wore similarly styled dresses, designed with basque bodices and net overskirts. The matron of honor was attired in white, while the bridesmaids wore pink and blue. Their earrings were gifts of the bride. Matching blushers veils completed their costumes, and they held colonial bouquets.

During the afternoon a reception was held at the Otto home, and at 5 o’clock a supper was served to 60 guests in the church parlors, canopied with blue, pink and white streamers centered with a large wedding bell. A large wedding cake, topped with a miniature bride and groom ornament, centered the bride’s table.

Both the bride and the groom were graduated from Loyal high school, Mrs. Luber in 1943 and Mr. Luber in 1939. Since his return from 32 months of overseas service in the European theater of operations, the groom has been employed by the highway maintenance department.

Guests at the wedding included: Mr. and Mrs. Orvin Litka and daughter, Gwendolyn, Mrs. John Fina, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wolfe and family, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Paddon and family, Mrs. Frank Toman, Mrs. John H, Fina and Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Fina, all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Luber of Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs. Ford Luber of Rice Lake, and many other relatives and friends from the vicinity around Loyal.

The Loyal Tribune extends to the young couple its wishes for happiness.
