Prough, Wanda Lea (Marriage - 23 Aug. 1958)

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Prough of Godfrey, Ill., announce the marriage of their daughter, Wanda Lea, to Mr. James B. Rusk, Jr., of Alton, son of Mr. and Mrs. James B. Rusk, Jackson, Mich., on Saturday, Aug. 23.

The couple repeated their double ring vows in a 4:00 o’clock candle light ceremony in the First Methodist church in Jerseyville, Ill. Tommy Joe Prough, brother of the bride, lighted the tapers for the nuptial ceremony. Jack E. Prough, of Baton Rouge, La., sang "The Lord’s Prayer," and Miss Sharon Brockus sang "Because."

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of tulle and lace over white satin, designed with a v neck line, short sleeves and molded bodice. The southern belle skirt had a chapel length train and a crown of daisies held her finger tip veil. She wore lace mitts and carried a cascade bouquet of pink and white roses.

Miss Marilyn Prough, maid of honor, and Miss Karen Rusk, bridesmaid, sisters of the bridal pair, wore ballerina length gowns with boat necklines and daisy head crowns with nose veils. Gold crystallette over taffeta was worn by Miss Prough and blue taffeta by Miss Rusk. They carried colonial bouquets of daisies.

Beth Ann Prough, niece, and Jeffrey Prough, nephew of the bride, were flower girl and ring bearer. Beth Ann appeared in a frock of white nylon over peach taffeta and a floral head band; carrying a basket of rose petals.

Gold lace with brown accessories was chosen by the mother of the bride, while the bridegroom’s mother selected rose beige silk shantung. White carnation corsages complemented the ensembles.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. Four sisters-in-law of the bride and Miss Diane Wilson, of Abbotsford, assisted at the reception.

Following a honeymoon trip, Mr. and Mrs. Rusk will be at home at 2113 Johnson, Alton, Ill.

The former Miss Prough is a graduate of the Abbotsford high school. She attended Eau Claire State College and Southern Illinois University where she was a speech major. She holds a position as occupational therapist in the state hospital at Alton.

Mr. Rusk, who received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Southern Illinois University, is a sales engineer for General Box Company of East St. Louis.
