Greeler, Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. (Golden - 4 October 1954) 

Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Greeler observed their golden wedding anniversary on Sunday, December 12, at their farm home on Route 4.  Although the actual wedding day occurred on October 4, the observance of their anniversary was postponed until their grandson, Erland Greeler, returned from overseas duty in Korea. 

A special service of Thanksgiving was held in the evening by the Rev. Alfred Schewe.  A song, "Now Thank We All Our God" was sung by the couple’s four grandchildren - Erland, Delores, Lucille and Janice Greeler.  Lucille also sang "The Lord’s Prayer." 

One of the couple’s original attendants, Mrs. Sam Pockat of Marion, Wis., was present. 

Mr. and Mrs. Greeler were married at Spencer on October 4, 1904.  They have one son, Erwin, who resides on the home farm. 

A large wedding cake, presented to Mr. and Mrs. Greeler, served as a centerpiece at the 5 o’clock dinner served to the 90 guests. 

Many gifts and money were received by the honored couple.

Schwantes, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bruss, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schwantes, Colby; Mrs. Sam Pockat and Ray and Ben Mevis, Marion, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Viegut, Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Viegut, Athens; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Schwocho and Susanne, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Schmidt and Verna Jean, Stratford; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Manthe, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Schwantes, Mr. and Mrs. George Greeler and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Gaier and Cindy, all of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Dale Nanstad and Margine, Blair; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Schwantes and family, Mrs. Berta Bruss, Mrs. Ida Seefeldt, Mr. and Mrs. Orval Matter, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Matter and Peggy, all of Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. A. Naedler, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Naedler, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. C. Naedler, Mr. and Mrs. (and the balance of the attendees was missing. Dmk)
