Gerhardt, Alvina (2 July 1879 - 4 December 1954) 
 

Mrs. William (Alvina) Gerhardt, age 75, died at her home on Emery Street Saturday morning December 4, 1954. 
 

Funeral services were held December 7, from St. John’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Alfred Schewe officiating.  Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.  The funeral was in charge of the Georgas Funeral Home. 
 

Mrs. Gerhardt was born July 2, 1879, in Walworth County, to August and Gusta (Krantz) Grams. She received her education in the Lutheran School at Ft. Atkinson.  She was married to William Gerhardt on October 24, 1900, at Ft. Atkinson.  They moved to Clark County on a farm in the Town of York, where they farmed for 27 years before moving to Neillsville.  Since then the family has resided on Emery Street.  Mrs. Gerhardt suffered a stroke in 1942 and had been in ailing health since. 
 

She is survived by her husband and the following seven children: Arman Gerhardt, Owen; Mrs. Melvin (Inez) Jung, Johnson Creek, Wis.; Paul Gerhardt, Bozeman, Mont.; Egbert Gerhardt, Milwaukee; Mrs. Walter (Frieda) Zank, Neillsville, Miss Arlene Gerhardt, at home; Mrs. Florence Asplin, Neillsville; three sisters, Mrs. William (Minnie) Wolfgram, Waterloo, Wis.; Mrs. Tilla Freeman, Kenosha; Mrs. John (Mary) Krause, Nashua, Mont.; 28 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. 
 

Mrs. Gerhardt was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

At the funeral rites for Mrs. Wm. Gerhardt pallbearers were: Albert Holt, W. G. Meier, George Shaw, Alvin Wendt, Ordie Marshall and Ellis Wall.  Flowers were in charge of Mrs. W. G. Meier and Mrs. Ed Zank. 
 

Wilfred Galstad rendered two selections, accompanied by Victor Lehman at the organ. 
 

Close relatives attending the rites were: Mr. and Mrs. Arman Gerhardt and son, Owen; Paul Gerhardt, Bozeman, Mont.; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Jung, Johnson Creek; Mr. and Mrs. Egbert Gerhardt, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gerhardt, Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Farnsworth, Miss Ruth Gerhardt, Robert Gerhardt and Miss Thelma Murff, all of Jefferson; William Hevey, Ft. Atkinson; Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Asplin, Moorhead, Minn.; Mrs. Francis Suckow, Greenwood; and Miss Hattie Winton, Eau Claire.
