Hoeser, Geraldine Janet (Marriage - 29 September 1954)

Miss Geraldine Janet Hoeser, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hoeser of Neillsville, chose September 29 as the date of her marriage to Alfred Spiegel, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Spiegel, Sr., also of Neillsville.

The nuptial double ring ceremony was performed at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Peter Leketas officiating.

The bride, who approached the altar on the arm of her father, wore a dress with a fitted bodice of Chantilly lace over satin with long lace sleeves coming to points over the hands.  The bodice was complete with a net yoke bound at the neck with a band of lace.  Her full length skirt of satin with a nylon tulle overskirt was topped with a scalloped lace tunic.  Her fingertip nylon tulle lace edged veil was attached to a crown trimmed with pearls and rhinestones.  She wore a pearl necklace and earrings. She carried a colonial bouquet of white and shrimp gladioli.

Miss Jeanette Hoeser served her sister as maid of honor.  She wore a shrimp strapless dress with fitted bodice of lace over taffeta worn with a short sleeve jacket with a mandarin collar. The skirt was full length of net over satin with a tunic of lace bordered with a net ruffle.  She wore dyed mums for a headpiece.  Miss Elaine Kessler was bridesmaid, dressed in an aqua dress styled identical to that of the maid of honor.  She carried a colonial bouquet.

Norbert Hoeser, brother of the bride, served as best man.  Louis Paun was groomsman and Arnold Trachte of Neillsville ushered.

A dinner was served to 50 guests following the ceremony and a reception was held for 150 guests from 2 to 4 p.m. Music was furnished by Philip Hoeser.  The bride’s table decoration was a three tiered wedding cake with pillars between each layer and decorated with shrimp and aqua roses, silver bells and net bows.

The bride, a graduate of the Neillsville High School class of ’51, has been employed in the office of Dr. R. L. Oettiker of Marshfield.  The groom has a pubic garage and milk routes in company with his brother.

After their return from a wedding trip along the western coast of Washington and California and visiting other western states, the couple will be at home on Granton, Rt. 3, after October 15.

Guests attending the ceremony were from Granton, Colby, Stratford, Loyal, Black River Falls, Augusta and Alma Center.
