Umlauft, Isadore  Sr.  (May 6, 1924 - November 3, 2009)


Isadore Umlauft Sr., 85, Marshfield, died Tuesday evening November 3, 2009 at the Bethel Nursing Center under the care of Ministry Home Hospice.

 

He was born May 6, 1924, in Dorchester, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Ulrich) Umlauft. 

 

He graduated from Dorchester High School in 1943. He served in the Korean War.

 

Mr. Umlauft was employed at Wisconsin Homes, retiring in 1989. 

 

He married Lucile Augustine on June 10, 1952, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Green Grove. 

 

He was a 40 year member of the Heart of Wisconsin Gem and Mineral Society and was an avid roller skater. 

 

He is survived by his children, Myrna (Leonard) Shaw, Vesper, Isadore Jr. (Sheila) Umlauft, Eau Claire, Star (Paul) Anacker, Wisconsin Rapids, and Renee (Rich Engevold) Schmitt, Marshfield. He is further survived by eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. 

 

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille; and his parents. 


Funeral services were held Saturday, November 7, 2009, at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Marshfield. The Rev. Tricia Turner presided. Isadore’s grandchildren were pallbearers. Interment was held at Brooklawn Memory Gardens. American Legion Post 54 conducted military honors.
