Minette, Walter Arthur (26 December 1872 - 22
Walter Arthur Minette, 81, of Granton, Rt. 1,
died December 22 following an illness which had confined him to a
hospital for 11 days. Services were held Saturday from the
Georgas Funeral home at 9 a.m. after which the body was taken to
"Richland Center, where services were held at 2 o’clock. The
Rev. R. H. Browe of Chili officiated, and burial was made in the
English Ridge Cemetery at Richland Center.
Minette, a retired stock-buyer and farmer, was born December 26;,
1872, at Richland Center to William and Marion Minette. He
received his education in the schools of Walworth County and in
1919 he moved with his family to the Town of Fremont, Clark
County. While in Richland Center, he was school clerk for
several years at the English Ridge school. He retired five years
marriage to Edith Dewitt took place February 27, 1893, at Iron
is survived by his wife, three sons, Cecil of Neillsville; Wilmer,
Whitewater; Harold, San Diego, Cal.; a daughter, Mrs. Willis
(Izely) Engebretson, La Crosse; a brother, Robert of Waukesha; and
by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers at the services here were: Julius
Rennak, Everett Kauffman, Wesley Jahr, Harold Schlinsog, Kenneth
Goering and Halvor Eide. Those at Richland Center were: Ross
Balsley, Tom Doudna, Maynard Doudna, John Nobe, Virgil Parr and Lee
Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Minette of Whitewater and Mr. and Mrs. Willis Engebretson of La Crosse attended the services here.
