Donahue, Frances (16 April 1873 - 8 October 1953) 
 

Mrs. James (Frances) Donahue, 80, died Thursday, October 8, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, where she had been taken eight weeks ago after suffering a stroke. Services were held Monday morning from St. Mary’s Church with the Rev. Peter Leketas officiating.  Burial was in the parish cemetery. 
 

Frances E. Donahue was born at West Bend April 16, 1873, to Joseph and Mary Schaefer. She spent her childhood at West Bend and was married to James Donahue of Baraboo on February 26, 1897.  After their marriage they farmed in the Town of Weston, moving to Neillsville in 1914.  Three children were born to them, Agnes of Eau Claire, and two sons, Joseph and Harold, both dying in infancy.  Since the death of her husband in 1947 she has made her home in Eau Claire with her daughter, Mrs. Agnes Kunce. 
 

Surviving her are one daughter, Mrs. Agnes Kunce of Eau Claire, three grandchildren; Theodore Kunce, Racine, Dale Kunce, serving with the armed forces in Japan, and Mrs. Gale (Marie) Hiles, Neillsville, also five great-grandchildren and one brother, Peter Schaefer of Neillsville and many nieces and nephews. 
 

Pallbearers were: Otto Hiles, John Krejci, William Neville, Sr., John Monarski, William Hughes and Ferdinand Weisjahn. 
 

Those from away attending the rites were; John Donahue and Peter Higgins, Baraboo; Mrs. John Sinclear, Spooner; Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Sinclear, Superior; Mrs. Nick Mueller and son, of Random Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Nick Habbersetzer and two sons, West Bend; Mrs. Jake Schaefer and Dan Spuhler, Jackson; Mr. and Mrs. Art Schaefer and daughter, Spencer; John M. Monarski, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Gene Kunce, Baraboo; Mrs. Anton Schaefer, Marshfield; Miss Estelle Krejci, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. James Keefe, Misses Nellie and Hattie Benjamin of Eau Claire.
