Standiford, Vivian (Marriage - 19 August 1953)

Miss Vivian Standiford, Greenwood, and Robert Vesel, Greenwood, were married August 19 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood, the Rev. Edward Hartung officiating.

The bride was dressed in a shimmering satin with lace gown, which had a sculptured bodice, fashioned with a draped satin neckline edged with Chantilly lace.  Identical lace fell in folds over the sides of the skirt which extended into a long train.  Her satin tiara encrusted with seed pearls held her lace trimmed illusion veil.  She carried a bouquet of white carnations centered with red roses tied with satin ribbon entwined with red roses.

Mrs. Gene Sowieja of West Allis, sister of the groom, was matron of honor.  Miss Patricia Reitz served her cousin as bridesmaid.  Gene Sowieja and Richard Standiford acted as groomsmen.  Ushering for the wedding party were Justin Standiford, Marinette and Bernard Vesel of West Allis.  Kandy Standiford, a little sister of the bride, was the flower girl.

A wedding breakfast was served at the home of the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Vesel of Greenwood, and the dinner and reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Standiford, Greenwood.

The young couple is making their home in Greenwood, where he is employed by the John Wuethrich Creamery Co.  The bride is a teacher in the Owen School system.
