Bentzler, Leona (Marriage - 1953)

Miss Leona Bentzler, South Bend, Ind., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Bentzler of Loyal, and Irban Aumann, South Bend, Ind., son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Aumann, Sr. of Loyal were married June 1, at Loyal in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Edward Aumann, Milwaukee, uncle of the groom, performing the double ring ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her father.

A White satin bodice with white lace over a satin skirt and a train, with dress buttoned down the back and a fingertip veil made up the dress worn by the bride.  Red roses combined with white carnations formed her bouquet.

Miss Darlene Bentzler, South Bend, Ind., in a strapless mint green formal of net over taffeta was her sister’s maid of honor.  Mrs. Harlan Bentzler, South Bend, and Mrs. Louis Aumann, Milwaukee, were the bridesmaids.  They were dressed in yellow and orchid gowns fashioned like that of the maid of honor.  They all wore matching hats and carried white carnations and yellow roses.

Donald Bentzler served the groom as best man.  Ushers were Edward Bentzler and Henry Aumann, Jr., brothers of the bride and groom. Garland Bentzler and Louis Aumann acted as groomsmen.

Decorations of the house and church were white, mint green, yellow and orchid.

Music was furnished by the church choir.

Breakfast was served to about 60 guests at the home of the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Aumann, Sr.  A dinner and reception were held in St. Anthony’s Church for relatives and friends.

The young couple will be at home to their friends in South Bend, Ind., when they return from a trip through the western states.

The  bride attended Loyal High School and has been employed at Boonie Doons in South Bend.  The groom is a graduate of the Loyal High School and has employment with the Studebaker Corp. in South Bend.

Out of town guests attending the wedding were from Marshfield, Hartford, Neillsville, Shawano, Milwaukee, City Point, South Bend, Ind., Greenwood and Delavan.
