Hagedorn, John Julius (Sept 28?, 1849-April 20, 1911)

Death has again invaded our midst.  This time claiming as his own Mr. Julius Hagedorn.  He had been a patient suffer from tuberculosis of the bowels for several months and entering the Marshfield Hospital some two weeks ago where he underwent an operation for this dread disease.  This being of no avail he returned to his home last Tuesday to be with his loved ones in his last hours.  Death coming as the only and final relief to his suffering on the evening of April 20th, 1911.

John Julius Hagedorn was born in Germany and had attained the age of 61 years, 6 months and 22 days.  He was married to Miss Mary Quast, coming over to this country 28 years ago.  To this union 7 children were born, two having preceded him in death in their infancy.  He leaves to mourn his loss his widow, his aged mother, five children and eight grandchildren.  The surviving children are, Mrs. Ernest Hemp, Paul, William, Richard and Lizzie Hagedorn.  Mr. Hagedorn was an honest, upright and industrious man, well liked by all who knew him, and the departing of his soul from this earth has robbed the community of one of its most respected citizens.  The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Globe Church and the remains were laid to rest in the Globe Cemetery amid a large concourse of relatives and friends who came to pay their last farewell tribute to the honored dead.  We extend out heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved relatives in this, their sad hour.
