Bergemann, Harland (28 Jan. 1908 - 11 Oct. 2009) 

Harland "Puffy" Bergemann, 101, of Wisconsin Rapids, formerly of Greenwood, died at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood. The Rev. Joseph Follmar will officiate, and burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at a later date. 

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with a Knights of Columbus rosary service at 10 a.m. 

Harland Michael Bergemann was born Jan. 28, 1908, in Black Creek, to Gustave and Ottilia (Breitenbach) Bergemann. He married Evelyn G. Rab, of Loyal on June 9, 1936, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Neillsville. Harland was employed by the Wisconsin State Banking Department and, in 1938, became office manager of Clark Electric Cooperative, in Greenwood, retiring as general manager in 1978. 

He served as organizer of the Electric Cooperative Manager's Association, city alderman, city clerk, member of the Industrial Development Committee and recipient of the Lions Citizen of the Year award. 

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of Wisconsin Rapids; children Richard (Sharon) of Omaha, Neb., Mary (Robert) Barr of Wausau, Sally (Greg) Stelmacher of Wisconsin Rapids and James (Kathi) of Monroe, La., a sister, Eileen (Ed) Davis of Ocala, Fla., a brother, Grant (Mary) Bergemann of Tucson, Ariz., 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
