Schraufnagel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schraufnagel, took for his
bride, Miss Nancy Lee Nienow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert
Nienow, of Edgar in a ceremony performed Saturday afternoon at
Peace Lutheran church, town of Frankfort. The Rev. Henry Krikau
read the service.
wore a floor length gown of Chantilly lace over satin. A Sabrina
neckline, trimmed with iridescent sequins, and long sleeves were
features of the molded bodice. The bouffant skirt had three skirts
of tulle and nylon net with appliquéd lace on the lower
skirt line. Her French silk illusion veil cascaded to her finger
tips from a half hat of lace, trimmed with pleated tulle, seed
pearls, and iridescent sequins. Her bouquet was fashioned of white
roses, centered with a white orchid.
the bride as maid of honor was her sister, Miss Kay Nienow.
Bridesmaids were the Misses Arlene Baumgart and Pat Johnson,
friends of the bride, of Colby, and Miss Donna Nienow, cousin of
the bride, Stratford.
identically styled floor length gowns of peau de soie over taffeta.
The strapless bodices had a pleated top with which they wore
stoles. The front ruffled skirt of net had an overskirt of peau de
soie. Picture hats of nylon straw with matching ribbons and pearl
necklaces, a gift of the bride, completed their ensembles. They
carried small, heart shaped baskets filled with fall flowers to
match their dresses and trailing ivy.
Aqua was the
color selected for the maid of honor and bronze for the other
Schraufnagel was best man for his brother, Gary Nienow, twin
brother of the bride, Jerold Johnson, a friend of the groom, and
Noel Schraufnagel, another brother of the groom, were groomsmen.
Ushering were Eldred Schraufnagel, uncle of the groom, Abbotsford,
and Ronald Peters, cousin of the bride, Beaver Dam.
A white lace
dress and white accessories were chosen by the mother of the bride.
The groom’s mother wore a dress of plum tone with navy blue
mixture and had navy and white accessories. Their corsages were
pink roses and white carnations.

The maid of
honor was also soloist at her sister’s wedding. "The
Lord’s Prayer" and "Wedding Prayer" were her two
the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride’s
parents and in the evening, the new Mr. and Mrs. Schraufnagel
greeted more friends at a wedding dance at Trianon Ballroom. They
left on a honeymoon trip to Chicago.
