Johnson, Sharon (Marriage - 2 Mar. 1957)

Mr. and Mrs. Myron Brecke are at home to friends on the William Brecke farm at Stetsonville, Wisconsin, Route 1. Their marriage took place Saturday, March 2 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran church at Stetsonville.

Parents of the bride, the former Sharon Johnson, are Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Johnson, Curtiss, and the groom is the son of William Brecke, Stetsonville.

The Rev. William P. Holtzhausen read the marriage ceremony at 1:30 o’clock during which Donald Vircks sang "O Perfect Love," and "The Lord’s Prayer." Mrs. Holtzhausen played the accompaniment.

For the occasion, the bride wore a floor length gown designed with a bodice of Chantilly lace with a sequin trimmed Sabrina neckline and long, tapered sleeves. Lace appliqués accented the nylon tulle skirt. Her finger tip veil was secured by a pearl head piece. She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses, white carnations, and stephanotis.

Miss Arla Brecke, Stetsonville, cousin of the groom, was maid of honor, and Miss Idelle Bowen, Curtiss, was bridesmaid.

The identical, orchid net dresses, worn by the attendants, were detailed with ruffled lace on the skirts and bodice. They wore jackets of matching lace and carried colonial bouquets of yellow roses, encircled by white chrysanthemums and stephanotis.

Bruce Dietz, Stetsonville, another cousin of the groom, as best man, and Roger Kramer, Abbotsford, attended the groom.

Ushers were Glenn Schauss, Kaukauna, and Emil Pauer, Medford, brothers-in-law of the bride and groom, respectively.

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Johnson chose a black ensemble with white accessories. Her corsage was made of red roses and white carnations.

For the wedding reception and supper, in the Curtiss village hall, guests came from North Chicago and Wirth, Ill.; Kaukauna, Milwaukee, Scandinavia, Medford, Dorchester, Wausau, Greenwood, Marshfield, Stetsonville, Curtiss, Milan, Colby, and Abbotsford.

In the evening, the new Mr. and Mrs. Brecke greeted friends at a wedding dance at Memorial hall, Dorchester.
