Lato, Brygida #2 (1 OCT 1880 - 1 JAN 1954)

 

Last rites were conducted by Rev. Herbert Zoromski and Rev. Francis Piekarski at St. Hedwig’s Church Wednesday, Jan. 6th in the morning at 10:00 o’clock for Mrs. Brygida Lato who passed away on Friday, Jan. 1st, 1954 at her farm home in the Town of Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.) of old age infirmities.

 

Brygida Wozniak was born Oct. 1st, 1880 in Wola, Poland.  She reached the age of 73 years and 3 months.

 

On Jan. 29, 1902, she was united in marriage to Vincent Lato in Poland.

 

On Sept. 9, 1925, she came to America with her children and joined her husband who had a farm in the town of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.) where they lived for 22 years, when they sold that farm and bought a farm in the town of Reseburg in 1947.  She resided there until the time of her death.

 

On Jan. 29, 1952, their 50th Wedding Anniversary was celebrated at their son’s home.

 

Besides her husband she is survived by two sons: John of Thorp, Bruno of Poland, and three daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Veronica) Kosik, Mrs. John (Magdalena) Abramczak, Mrs. Joe (Stella) Grabowski, all of Thorp, 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  Also two brothers, John and Anton Wozniak of Poland and one sister, Mrs. Agnes Lato of Thorp.

 

She was preceded in death by one daughter and two sisters.

 

Interment took place in the parish cemetery.  Pallbearers were grandchildren, Joe and Chester Kosik, Chester Abramczak, Leon Lato, Joe Grabowski, and a nephew, Joe J. Lato.

 

Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral were Mrs. John Jaworek and children, Mrs. Ralph Niemiec and son of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Haider, Miss Amelia Grabowski of Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Levien of St. Paul, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Tom Kornesczuk, Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Bayer, Mr. and Mrs. John Grabowski, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Lato, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Lato, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Powszuklewicz, all of Gilman.
