vows were exchanged between Miss Mary Dona Grammer, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Theodore Grammer, of Colby, and Warren German, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Harley German, of Curtiss, Wednesday morning, Aug. 1, at
St. John’s Catholic church, Wuerzburg. The Rev. Burggraff
read the marriage service at 9:00 o’clock, before the nuptial
gown was floor length, designed with a full permanent pleated
skirt. The short sleeves featured an off the shoulder v-neck,
detailed with pleating and lace. A crown headpiece of mother of
pearl and sequins held the lace edged veil of finger tip length.
She carried a crescent shape bouquet of rubrum lilies and pale pink
roses with white stephanotis.
the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Marvin German, brother and
sister-in-law of the groom, of Medford.
were Miss Jean Helen Lord, of Clintonville, and Miss Josephine
Jahnke, of Marshfield, cousins of the bride. Neal Melvin, cousin of
the groom, of Abbotsford, and Dale Thompson, a friend of the groom,
of Curtiss, were ushers.
Kaisershot, cousin of the bride, Marathon City, was flower girl and
Dennis Grammer, brother of the bride, was ring bearer.
bride’s attendants, in floor-length gowns made alike with
lace jackets over the strapless bodices, carried out a summer color
scheme, aqua for the matron of honor and yellow and pink for the
bridesmaids. The little flower girl wore a white dress similar to
the bride’s. They all wore matching headpieces consisting of
a feathered hat with rhinestones and veil, and carried colonial
bouquets of rubrum lilies and white mums.
chose a pale rose dress for her daughter’s wedding. With it,
she wore white accessories and a corsage of pink roses.
groom’s mother wore a blue dress, to which she pinned her
corsage of pink roses. Her accessories were also white.
the bridal party was served at the home of the bride’s
parents, where later, a reception, attended by about 175 guests,
was held from 2:00 until 6:00 o’clock. In the evening, a
wedding dance was held at Memorial hall, Dorchester.
Mr. and Mrs.
German left on a wedding trip to Texas and Mexico. On their return,
about Aug. 15, they will make their home on a Curtiss route. The
groom is employed at E. J. Crane and Sons. Both young people are
graduates of Abbotsford high school.
Guests attending the wedding came from Wausau, Merrill, Marshfield, Clintonville, Owen, Unity, Spencer, Abbotsford, Marathon City, Milwaukee, Athens, Edgar, Fenwood, Black River Falls, Medford, Curtiss, and Milan.
