Thede, Alex (13 Mar. 1888 - 13 Aug. 1956)  
 

Funeral rites for Alex Thede, 68, who died Monday night at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, following a cerebral hemorrhage, will be held Friday afternoon at the First Evangelical and Reformed church. The Rev. V. O. Grosshuesch will officiate and internment will be made in the Colby cemetery.  
 

The body is lying in state at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.  
 

Mr. Thede was born March 13, 1888, in New Holstein, where he resided until 1912, when he began farming in the town of Colby.  
 

After retiring eight years ago, he moved to Abbotsford.  
 

He was united in marriage to Adelia Schmidt Sept. 5, 1911, at New Holstein. 
 

Survivors include the widow, one daughter, Mrs. Hal (Adeline) Harding, and a grand daughter, Janice Harding, Marshfield; and one sister, Mrs. Paul (Luella) Langenegger, of Alma. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers.

Funeral rites for Alex Thede, 68, of Abbotsford were conducted at Colby Friday afternoon at the First Evangelical and Reformed church by the Rev. V. O. Grosshuesch.  
 

Internment took place in the Colby cemetery. The pallbearers were LeRoy and Vilas Thede, Art Leichtnam, Robert Kreklau, Harold Schmidt and Glen Utschig. 
 

Mr. Thede died at St. Joseph’s hospital in Marshfield Aug. 13 of a cerebral hemorrhage. 
 

Out of town persons who attended the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Hal Harding and daughter, Janice, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Langeneger, Alma, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. George Geisler and Mrs. Laone Hagle, Milwaukee; Albert Utschig, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Blob, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Utschig and Mr. and Mrs. Reno Utschig, Appleton;  
 

Mr. and Mrs. Edward Schmidt, Denmark, Wisconsin; Clifford and Bruno Bruckmeier, Green Bay; Mr. and Mrs. William Thede and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Sell, New Holstein; Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Hintz, Hebert, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. William Ullrich and Mr. and Mrs. Hank Reinke, Wausau; and other relatives and friends from Colby, Abbotsford, Owen, Edgar, Curtiss, Unity and Withee.
