Teclaw, Loraine M. (18 JUL 1953)

St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby, was the scene of a lovely church ceremony which united Loraine Marie Teclaw, daughter of Mrs. Caroline Teclaw, in holy wedlock to Paul P. Firnstahl, son of Mr. and Mrs. I. M. Firnstahl, Colby, on Saturday morning, July 18, 1953.  The Rev. Frank Brickl officiated at the nine o’clock ceremony.

The bride’s sister, Alicia Teclaw, Milwaukee, served as maid of honor.  She was attired in a white staples gown featuring a gathered skirt of nylon tulle over taffeta and accented by a bertha type on imported Chantilly lace.  Her headband was composed of matching lace and she carried a basket bouquet of roses and delphis.

The bridesmaids, Mrs. Virginia Lamont, sister of the groom, and Mrs. Ruth Teclaw, sister-in-law of the bride, were dressed like the maid of honor.

When the bride approached the altar on the arm of her uncle and godfather, William Milew, she was attired in a white gown designed with full skirt of nylon tulle and nylon over satin accented with a short overskirt of French Chantilly lace which dipped into a deep point at the back of the skirt.  The lace bodice had a sheer tulle yoke and wide neckline and her headpiece was a crown effect of nylon net and matching lace.  She carried a white prayer book topped with an orchid and white stephanotis.

Jerry H. Firnstahl, brother of the groom, Chicago, was best man and groomsmen were A. Lamont, brother-in-law of the groom, Colby, and Donald Teclaw, brother of the bride, Milwaukee.  Ernest Gay, cousin of the bride, Withee, and Jim Firnstahl, cousin of the groom, Colby, helped to seat the guests in the church.

Carol Gay, cousin of the bride, Withee, and Kathy Lamont, niece of the groom, Colby, were flower girls.

After the ceremony an 11:30 dinner was served at the Woodland Hotel in Owen, followed by a reception at the bride’s home in Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).

The bride is a graduate of Owen High School and Wis. State College, river Falls, and her husband, who is employed as associate manager of the Household finance Corp. In La Crosse, is a graduate of Colby High School and attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering and Wis. state College, Eau Claire.
