Wing, Mr./Mrs. F. B. (50th Anniv. - 21 Oct. 1953)

The golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Wing was celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 21. Open house for the honored couple was held at the Presbyterian church from 2:00 to 5:00 o’clock when many friends from here and away called. The church parlors were beautifully decorated with baskets of yellow roses and a variety of yellow and gold chrysanthemums. Centering the table was a low bowl of yellow mums and roses, flanked by candelabra.

Mrs. A. A. Young, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wing, and Mrs. Ben Wing, a daughter-in-law, poured. Both wore corsages of yellow roses.

For the occasion, Mrs. Wing wore a deep rose dress and had a corsage of a white orchid with a gold throat.

In the evening, dinner for the family and close friends was served at the Hotel Charles, Marshfield, after which a reception was held at the Ben Wing home at Marshfield.

Mrs. Wing was born Catherine MacMillan, at Neillsville, Sept. 1, 1880. She lived there until her marriage to Frank B. Wing, which took place at her home Oct. 21, 1903. She came to Abbotsford as a bride and has lived here continuously.
