Mrs. Christ Madsen, 69, of 303 Prairie St., died Tuesday morning, Dec. 16, 1952 at 1:05 o’clock at St. Michael’s Hospital.  She had been patient there for the past two weeks and suffered ill health for the past year.

The former Caroline Jessen was born March 12, 1883 in Denmark and came to this country when she was five years old with her late parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig Jessen.

The family resided for a time at Chicago and then settled at Withee when Mrs. Madsen was about 11 years old.

She remained at home until her marriage at Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) on March 6, 1905 to Christ Madsen.  The couple lived there until 22 years ago, when they came to Stevens Point, remaining here since.  For the past five years they have resided at the Prairie St. address.

Mr. Madsen was engaged in his own construction business at Withee and in Stevens Point had been employed by the Vetter Manufacturing Company as an architect.  He is presently semi-active in the architectural field.

Mrs. Madsen was a member of the Ladies Aid at Trinity Lutheran Church and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge at Withee.

Surviving are her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Tom Grady, St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Chris Madsen, Chicago; Mrs. Ove Rasmussen, Menomonie, Wis., and Mrs. Al Thorson, Fond du Lac; one son, Clarence, 618 South Michigan Av.; nine grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Charles Johnson, Chicago.

She was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at the Boston Funeral Home.  Burial was made in the spring in Forest Cemetery.
