Fosnow, Peter (5 MAY 1878 - 19 APR 1952)

 

Peter Fosnow, a long time resident of the Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) community was placed in his final resting place at Riverside Cemetery Monday afternoon.  Funeral services were conducted at two o’clock from Griebenow’s Funeral Parlors.  Rev. H. D. Wagner of the Alliance Chapel officiated.

 

Vocal selections were sung by Mrs. Herman Rabska.

 

Serving as pallbearers were Hans Nielsen, John Jalling, Emil Hansen, Wm. Bahling, Mike Bahling and August Slock.  In charge of the floral offerings were Mrs. Herman Rabska and Mrs. Turner.

 

Peter Fosnow was born on May 5, 1878 to William and Elizabeth Fosnow at Aken township, Richland County, Wis., where he also spent his younger years.

 

On April 14, 1907 he was united in marriage to Mabel Arms of Boscobel, Wis.  To this union four children were born: Edith Elizabeth, Albert, Mildred and Elsie.

 

In the fall of 1907 the family moved to Clark County where they resided on a farm north of Withee, until the Spring of 1939 when they moved to the present home in Withee.  Mr. Fosnow passed away at the Victory Memorial Hospital of Stanley at 12:30 a.m. on April 19, 1952, after a prolonged illness, having reached the age of 73 years, 11 months and 14 days.

 

He is survived by his wife, Mabel, three daughters, Edith Elizabeth of Minneapolis; Mrs. Silas (Mildred) Peach of Hopkins; Mrs. Paul (Elsie) McShane of Minneapolis; a son, Albert of Minneapolis.  There are four grandchildren; also two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Eaton of Richland Center, and Mrs. West Kauffman of Abbotsford; a brother, John of Soldiers Grove, Wis., other relatives, and a host of friends.
