Lapp, Phyllis Joan (Marriage - 28 Nov. 1953)

Miss Phyllis Joan Lapp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lapp, and Frederick Shields, son of Dr. and Mrs. G. G. Shields of Wisconsin Rapids, exchanged marriage vows Saturday afternoon, Nov. 28. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Raymond Schulz in the rectory of St. Bernard’s Catholic church at 2:00 o’clock.

The bride wore an aqua jersey dress with angora trim and matching hat. Her flowers were yellow rosrs and white mums.

Attending her as maid of honor was Miss Mary Shields of Wisconsin Rapids, sister of the groom, and as bridesmaids were Miss Bonnie Leichtnam and Miss Sandra Fults, both of Abbotsford, Wis.

They wore identically styled angora trimmed jersey dresses and white angora hats. Miss Shields, in pink jersey, carried blue carnations; Miss Leichtnam, in blue, carried pink carnations, and Miss Fults, in yellow, carried white carnations.

James Seidel, of Abbotsford, as best man, Clyde Peissig, of Curtiss, and Richard Calmes, of Athens attended the groom.

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Lapp wore a light blue gabardine suit. The groom’s mother chose a gold orion crepe. Both mothers wore corsages made of pink and white carnations.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, where a 5:00 o’clock dinner was served. Aqua and yellow streamers, centered with a white wedding bell, were hung in the dining room. A wedding cake, decorated with yellow roses and topped with a miniature bride and groom, centered the table.

Guests attended from Wisconsin Rapids, Owen, Medford, and Abbotsford, Wis.
