Luhrsen, August Henry (31 Mar. 1863 - 2 Sept. 1953)  
 

Funeral services for August H. Luhrsen, who died Wednesday morning, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Presbyterian church in Abbotsford, Wis. Internment will be made in the Abbotsford cemetery. The body is lying in state at the Zink Funeral Home. 
 

August Henry Luhrsen was born in Sauk county, town of Westfield, March 21, 1863. He was married to Josephine Hulbert, in Reedsburg in 1884, where the family resided. Four children were born to this union, three of whom survive their parents; Mrs. Clyde Nielsen, Minneapolis; Clarence (Louis), Mondovi; Mrs. John (Wanda) Miller, Strum. A son, Cully, died in 1951. Mrs. Luhrsen died in 1892.  
 

On Nov. 12, 1902, Mr. Luhrsen and Amanda Henke were united in marriage at Wisconsin Rapids. They lived at Marshfield for a time and in 1906, came to Abbotsford, Wis. When the Division moved from Abbotsford in 1910 the Luhrsens lived for a short time at New Richmond, Eau Claire, Wisconsin Rapids and came back to Abbotsford in 1916, and lived here since that time. Mr. Luhrsen traveled for the International Harvester Company from 1897 to 1927, when he was retired on pension. Mrs. Luhrsen died in June, 1947.  
 

Survivors of his second marriage are Delos C. Luhrsen, Stevens Point; Mrs. Loella Baehr, Milwaukee; August Luhrsen, of Waukesha.  
 

A sister, Mrs. Emma Licht, of New Freedom, three grand children and two great grand children also survive.  
 

Mr. Luhrsen, who celebrated his 90th birthday anniversary last March, had been in good health and was ill only since Sunday. He died peacefully in his sleep shortly before 2:00 o’clock, Wednesday morning.

Funeral services for A. H. Luhrsen, 90, who died Wednesday, were held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Presbyterian church. The Rev. Richard Harrison conducted the services during which the Rev. William Knobloch sang several selections. Burial was made in the Abbotsford cemetery. 
 

The pallbearers were Fred Bobbe, Leo Banditt, W. O. Colby, H. D. Kennedy, H. T. Ketcham, and Harry Olson. 
 

The floral offerings were in charge of the following ladies of the Home Mission: Mmes. Fred Bobbe, Walter Fults, C. W. Hoffman, John Hutt, H. D. Kennedy, Wilbur Kuehnast, Lawrence Neitzel, and Maurice Thompson. 
 

All the children were here for the funeral. They are: Mrs. Clyde B. Nielsen, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Luhrsen and daughter, Mondovi; Mrs. John A. Miller, Strum; Mrs. C. A. Luhrsen and Mrs. Loella Baehr, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Luhrsen, Stevens Point; and Mr. and Mrs. August Luhrsen, Waukesha. 
 

Other relatives at the funeral included H. W. Licht, North Freedom; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Thomas, Mukwonago; Mr. and Mrs. William Droes, Mrs. Anna Miller and grand daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hulbert, Reedsburg; Miss Doris Brobst, Madison; Edward and Miss Clara Henke, Mrs. Richard Markworth and daughter of Wisconsin Rapids. 
 

Among friends from away who attended were William Hintermeyer, of Mondovi; Michael Groseth, Eau Claire; Paul Michler, Medford; and William and Ed Witte, Colby, Wis.
