Kraut, Marie (30 DEC 1951)

 

Marie Kraut, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Kraut, Sr., of Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), and James L. Cattanach, Owen, were married Sunday, Dec. 30, 1951, in a wedding ceremony performed at four o’clock in St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church, Owen, Performing the rites was Dr. K. O. Crosby.

 

The bride’s gown was of white satin with over skirt and a blouse of Chantilly lace and net.  She carried a bouquet of white carnations centered with a lavender orchid.

 

Serving as her attendant was her sister, Mrs. Ethel Zulke of Madison, who wore a Nile green satin gown over net skirt.  She carried a bouquet of white carnations centered with a green orchid.

 

The bride was presented in marriage by her brother Franklin Kraut.

 

Donald Kraut, brother of the bride, Curtiss, acted as best man.  John and Louis Cattanach, brothers of the bridegroom, served as ushers.

 

At five o’clock that evening a dinner and reception were held at the Owen Community Hall for immediate members of the bridal couple’s families.  The tables of the main dining room were decorated with bouquets of pink and white snapdragons, white mums and pink carnations.

 

Both of the young people have a large acquaintance of friends in this vicinity.

 

The bride is a graduate of the Owen High School and Eau Claire Beauty College, Eau Claire.  For the past several years she has been employed at Leonard’s beauty Salon in Madison.  Her husband is also a graduate of the Owen High School and attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering.  He is now employed by the Household Finance Corp. at Madison.

 

They are now enjoying a two week honeymoon to Jacksonville, Florida and a visit at the home of the groom’s sister, Mrs. Huber Glenzer, Jr., and family.  Upon their return they will make their home in Madison.
