Gangler, Catherine #2 (6 APR 1848 - 19 SEP 1909)

 

Died - Sunday, Sept. 19, 1909, Mrs. John Gangler, aged 61 years, 5 months, 13 days.

 

Mrs. Gangler was born Catherine Marx in Germany on April 6, 1848.  In 1870 she was united in marriage to John Gangler.  They located at Milwaukee soon after.  After a three years residence there they removed to a farm 5 miles south of Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.).  They lived there 9 years and then removed to this city, where they have since resided on the north side.

 

Twelve children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Gangler, ten of whom survive with the father to mourn their mother’s death.  The children are Mrs. Julius Geisler, Mrs. Wm. Hughes, Nick and Peter of this city, and Mrs. John Durckson, Mrs. Lena Imse, John, Mat, Will and Joe of Chicago, all of whom were present at the funeral.  Ten grandchildren survive the deceased.  Other surviving relatives are two brothers, Peter and John Marx of West Bend, and cousins Mat and John Marx, Wm. And Peter Goeden and Mrs. Susie Bornhofen of this city.

 

Mrs. Gangler was a pleasant and estimable lady, energetic and persevering, a consistent Christian and a true wife and mother.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and the Altar Society.  The funeral occurred yesterday morning at 9 o’clock at St. Mary’s Church.
