He was born in the town of Loyal on Feb. 6, 1878, the son of  William and Elizabeth Welsh, Pioneer residents here.

He attended the rural school known as Dodgeville school, and most of his life was spent in this community, on his father’s homestead farm and in the village. Many of his years were spent in caring for his aged mother, whose long life spanned a century.

Funeral services were held in the Ohlrogge funeral home last Thursday afternoon with the Rev. M. E. Taylor officiating. The hymns were sung by Mrs. Ray Prior, with Mrs. Arnold Wickland as accompanist.

Pallbearers were William Evans, George Cleveland, August Witt, Vern Millard, John Geiger and George Anderson.

The flowers were carried by Mrs., Bert Pope, Mrs. Homer Perkins, Mrs. J. Roder, Mrs. Simon Noah, Mrs. Ted Welsh and Mrs. Ida Kusa.

Interment was in the Pine Grove cemetery.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Vetter, of Perkinstown and one brother, Grant Welsh, of Loyal. Mrs. Vetter came from Perkinstown to attend the funeral.

To the survivors, The Tribune extends its sympathy.
