Johnson, Joanne Christine (30 Sept. 1947 - 30 Jan. 1950)

Joyful and sorrowful events took place in the Carl Johnson family over the past week end. There was joy in the birth of two grand children and sorrow in the death of a two-year-old grand daughter.

A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Orth, of Toluca, Ill., Saturday, Jan. 28, at the hospital in Streater, Ill. She weighed nine pounds and was named Susan Mary. The Orths have another daughter, Dianne. Mrs. Orth is the former Doris Johnson, twin sister of Loris.

A son was born Sunday, Jan. 29, to Mr. and Mrs. Loris Johnson, also of Toluca. He weighed seven pounds and seven ounces.

Joanne Christine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Loris Johnson, had been ill for about a week and on Monday was taken to the same hospital in Streater, where her mother and baby brother were. She underwent surgery for a ruptured appendix about 8:00 o’clock and death occurred about three hours later.

Joanne Christine Johnson was born Sept. 30, 1947, at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield. In August, 1948, her parents moved from Abbotsford to Toluca, Ill.

She is survived by her parents, a sister, Linda, and infant brother; her maternal grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Stachura, of Mosinee, and paternal grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Johnson, of Abbotsford, Wis.

Mrs. Carl Johnson has been in Toluca since Friday. Mr. Johnson, Carl Johnson Jr., and Mrs. Leo Hilber left for Toluca, Wednesday morning to attend the Angel High Mass Thursday morning after which they will bring the remains to Mosinee for internment there, Friday.
