Wilhelmi, Miss (Marriage - 29 Sept. 1949)

[the first part of the first sentence was missing due to a newspaper misprint] of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Wilhelmi, Abbotsford, became the bride of Richard E. Preller, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Preller, Abbotsford, at 2:00 o’clock on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 29, in Christ Lutheran church, Abbotsford, Wis. The Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiated at the ceremony.

The bride was attired in a cream satin, floor length gown, styled with a fitted bodice. Lace covered mitts to match and a head dress of cream satin trimmed with coronet braid completed the ensemble. She carried a bouquet of gladioli and orchids.

Miss Ann Preller, sister of the groom, was maid of honor, and Miss Arlene Wilhelmi, the bride’s cousin, was bridesmaid. Both are from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

They wore gold satin gowns with matching mitts and gold head pieces. Violet colored gladioli and chrysanthemums were used in the bouquets.

Attending the groom as best man was Richard Ziebarth, Madison; a cousin of the bride. Earl Kramer, Abbotsford, was the other attendant.

Robert Preller, Loyal, and Frank Bauer, Marshfield, brother and brother-in-law of the groom, respectively, filled the role of ushers.

Mrs. Wilhelmi, the bride’s mother, was dressed in a green suit with black accessories. The groom’s mother wore a brown dress, trimmed in aqua with brown accessories. Both had corsages of yellow and violet mums.

Following the ceremony at the church, dinner was served at 4:30 o’clock, in the church parlors. In the evening a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, followed by a dance at Walter’s Pavilion, Colby, Wis.

Mr. and Mrs. Preller, both graduates of Abbotsford high school, are employed in Abbotsford, the former at Medo-Farms Dairy, and the latter at the Abbotsford Loan Corporation. They will reside in Abbotsford after a honeymoon to the southern part of the state.

Guests attending from out of town included John Kadonsky, Richard Ziebarth, Madison; Mrs. R. Gebauer and son, Robert, Tomah; Miss Arlene Wilhelmi and Ann Preller, Milwaukee; Dr. and Mrs. Rudolph Ewig, Waukegan; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bauer, of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Preller, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wilhelmi and children, Shirley, Earl and Kenneth, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vollrath and sons, Dale and Larry, Greenwood. Other relatives and friends came from Owen, Colby, Dorchester, and Abbotsford, Wis.
