A pretty wedding took place in St. Louis, Mo., Saturday , Aug. 8, 1953 at St. Margaret’s Church, 39th and Flad St. at 9:00 a.m. mass, when Miss Beverly Witthaus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Witthaus, became the bride of A/2c Robert L. Szymanski of Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Rogalski of Chicago. Father Hoffer performed the double ring wedding ceremony.

 

The church was beautifully decorated with candles, white roses and peonies.

 

The bride was escorted down the aisle on the arm of her father. She wore a beautiful ballerina length gown of summer satin and net with a long sleeved bolero of lace and elbow length veil of illusion net held by a necklace of pearls, lace and earrings, a gift of the groom, and carried a colonial bouquet of three gardenias surrounded with white roses and mums.

 

The bridesmaid, Miss June Witthaus, sister of the bride, wore a ballerina length gown of pale blue eyelet and lace with hat and bolero to match. She also carried a colonial bouquet of yellow baby mums.

 

The groom was attended by best man, A/2c Oscar Caruso of Boston, Mass. The groom and best man wore the conventional suits.

 

The bride’s mother wore a pale blue nylon dress with pink accessories. Their corsages consisted of white roses and carnations.

 

A wedding breakfast was held after the ceremony for the bridal party and immediate families at the bride’s home at 4253 Botanical Ave.

 

Later a buffet dinner and open house was held from 4 to 11 p.m. to 250 guests.

 

The couple departed for a week wedding trip to the Ozarks and Chicago. They will make their home at San Antonio, Texas, where the groom is stationed at Randolph Air Force Base.

 

Out of town guests were Mrs. Ignatz Szymanski, Thorp, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Rogalski and daughters of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Witthaus, Mr. and Mrs. Alois Winkleman, all of Morrison, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Witthaus, Mr. and Mrs. J. Fehlings of Herman, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. E. J. La Boube of Kankakee, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Hillery Bucker of Rheinland, Mo.
