Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rossman of Manitowoc spent the weekend here with their parents.

The M.E. Ladies Aid will meet at the church basement Friday, Oct. 29th. Everybody is welcome.

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Harper of Owen are visiting at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Erwin Fisher.

The West Side Aid will meet Wednesday, Nov. 3rd with Mrs. Albert Miller.

L.J. Poole and two children, Lois and Norman, of Minneapolis were here Friday to attend the funeral of Mrs. Mary Sweet and to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Poole.

Mr. and Mrs. E.K. Sheets will leave tomorrow for California, where they will spend the winter with relatives and friends.

We are in receipt of a letter from Nick Scherer at Chicago, in which he says the family is all fine and that they live Chicago very much.

Mrs. I.W. Stafford will entertain the Suffragette Club at her home this evening.

The Misses Alma Meinholdt and Martha Miller left Thursday for Milwaukee where they will be employed during the winter.

Mr. and Mrs. A. Sischo and children autoed to Athens Sunday for a visit at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas.

Henry Bushman was at Manitowoc last week, where he attended the funeral of his brother Frank, who was killed in an auto accident.

P.O. Berg and Mr. and Mrs. Thos. O'Brien of Drummond spent from Tuesday until Friday at the I.W. Stafford home.

There will be a program and dance at the Maple Center School Friday, Oct. 29th. Lunch 15 and 20 cents. Everybody is welcome.

Mrs. C.J. Carter, Mrs. L. Arbs, Mrs. Ed Arends, Mrs. Fred Behrens and Mrs. C.F. Ludwig were Marshfield visitors Tuesday.

Mrs. Charlotte Neiman returned to Longwood Sunday, where she will spend the winter at the McCarty home.

Joe Brauneis went to Milwaukee last Wednesday where he attended a convention of canning factory managers.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Borham are attending the Cheese and Butter Makers Convention at Marshfield today.

Dance at the Will Syth farm Thursday evening, Oct. 28th. Music by Slim Perkins Orchestra.

Mrs. Phillips and daughter Miss Mae of Neillsville were visitors at the O.A. Hiles home last Wednesday.

F.G. MacLachlan autoed to Whitewater Friday to get Mrs. MacLachlan and children, who had been there for several weeks.

Howard Hepburn and family moved here from Prairie Farm last week and are residing in the McCormick residence. Mr. Hepburn has accepted a position at the Big Store.

A good road meeting will be held at the local Opera House tonight, Oct. 28th. Calway and Devos will be the speakers. Come out and have the road question explained.

C.H. Zimmerman and family and Mrs. Ninneman and two children spent Sunday with relatives and friends at Augusta.

The 500 Club met at the John Bushman home Sunday evening. Frank Neibauer and Mrs. Otto Friske won first prizes, and Ed Stiefvater and Mrs. Wm. Denk consolation prizes. A very enjoyable evening was had by all present.

There will be a card party at the Catholic Church basement Thursday evening, Oct. 28th. Everybody is cordially invited.

C.C. Hoehne, John Arends, A.C. Barr, J.H. Fradette and Ira Leach were among those from here who attended the road meeting at Neillsville Sunday.

Mrs. Geneva Clute and son returned from Wausau Monday where they spent a few days at the Dale Varney home.

The Christopherson School, northeast of Greenwood, will have a basket social Saturday, Oct. 20th. There will be the usual fishing pond, a candy sale and a program for Halloween in connection with the social. Everyone is invited to attend.

Mrs. W.W. Tyrell of Jim Falls is visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.M. Pratt.

Mrs. M.M. Alexander entertained the Octette Club at her home Monday evening.

At the regular meeting of the M.W.A. Tuesday evening, a delicious supper was served. About thirty members and their wives were present and greatly enjoyed the evening, as well the eats.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Neuenfeldt, Miss Rosetta Hillier and S.I. Hillier were Owen callers Sunday morning.
