Brown, Willa Marie (13 June 1869 - 2 June 1947)

Funeral services for Mrs. Willa Marie Brown, who died June 2, at the state hospital at Owen, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Zink Funeral Home, where the body had been lying in state. The Rev. G. E. Griffiths conducted the service during which Miss Jessie Merrill and Miss Joyce Merwin sang several hymns.

The pallbearers were Bernard Geiger, Henry Kittl, Frank Kadonsky, Ray Thompson, Frank Wiese and Fred Wedeking.

The flowers were carried by three grand daughters of Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Bernard Geiger, Mrs. Henry Kittl and Miss Alice Jean Pollack.

Internment was made in the Abbotsford cemetery.

Mrs. Brown was born June 13, 1869, at Martell, Ia., the daughter of Adonivan and Marietta Newland. Her father was a farmer from New York and her mother came from Vermont.

For the past 25 years Mrs. Brown made her home with her daughter, Mrs. John Pollack. For several weeks she had been a patient at the hospital at Owen where she suffered a stroke which caused her death, Monday morning at 10:00 o’clock.

She is survived by three sons, Lloyd Fairfield, Redlands, Cal.; Jack Fairfield, San Fernando, Cal.; Yorke Fairfield, North Hollywood, Cal.; and three daughters, Mrs. Merle Gasick, Van Nuys, Cal.; Mrs. Dorothy Kieltz, Rock Springs, Wyo.; and Mrs. Marguerite Pollack, Abbotsford, Wis. There are 18 grand children and eight great grand children. Two children preceded her in death.
