Bonk, Albert (16 JUN 1867 - 30 SEP 1952)

Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Church here on Friday morning at ten o’clock for Albert Bonk, aged citizen of the City of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), who passed away at his home hre of old age infirmities on Tuesday, Sept. 30th, 1952. Father Francis Piekarski officiated, assisted by Father Herbert Zoromski and father E. J. Kaim.

He had reached the age of 85 years.

The deceased was born in Poland on June 16, 1867 and came to America in 1893. He located at Chicago for a number of years where he was united in marriage to Victoria Sroka in 1894. Mrs. Bonk passed away April 28, 1949. They came to Thorp in 1911 and operated a farm near here until their retirement in 1927, when they came to the city of Thorp, and continued to reside until death.

Mr. Bonk is survived by two sons, Edward Bonk of Thorp and Stanley Bonk of Chicago; five daughters, Sister Innocent C.R. of Chicago, Clara, Mrs. Julius Desbeins, Marie, Mrs. James Nichols and Matilda bonk, all of Chicago, and Lillian, Mrs. Frank Piekarz of Thorp.

He was laid to rest in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ray Baldeschwiler, Arthur Kenny, Nick Benzschawel, Frank Schmidt, Joseph Haas and John Maier.
