Stachura, Marian (Marriage - 26 Apr. 1947)

The Misses Bernice and Marian Stachura, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Stachura, town of Mosinee, were brides in a double wedding ceremony held in St. Paul’s Catholic church at Mosinee, Saturday morning.

The former is the bride of Henry Sadowski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sadowski, Chicago, and the later exchanged vows with Lorris Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Johnson, of Abbotsford, Wis.

The Rev. J. B. Cysewski celebrated the nuptial mass, for which Mrs. Mayme Doherty was organist. At the offertory Miss Patricia Doherty sang "Ave Maria."

Both brides were gowned in white slipper satin, designed with sweetheart neck line and long sleeves. They wore finger tip veils with beaded coronet head dresses and carried bouquets of calla lilies, roses and carnations. Each bride wore a string of pearls.

Their sister, Lorraine, served as their maid of honor and the bridesmaids were Mrs. Emery Gerrow, another sister of the brides, Wausau, Miss Geraldine Gronski, Mosinee, and Mrs. Leo Hilber, sister of Mr. Johnson, Abbotsford, Wis. Emery Gerrow, Armin Boehm, Mosinee, and Leo Hilber, an uncle to the brides and brother-in-law of Mr. Johnson, Abbotsford, attended the bridegroom.

The maid of honor was attired in yellow taffeta and the bridesmaids wore identical gowns of pink and blue. Their gowns were made with satin bodices and full net skirts. All wore pearl necklaces, gifts of the brides and carried bouquets of pink snapdragons and carnations.

The brides’ mother wore navy blue, Mrs. Johnson wore powder blue and Mrs. Gronski, an aunt with whom the groom made his home, wore navy blue. All had corsages of red roses and white carnations.

Flowers and ferns decorated the church altars. At the Stachura home, where breakfast was served to the immediate families and an informal reception was held throughout the day, there were pastel streamers and cut flowers for decoration. About 150 attended the reception and the dinner and supper served at St. Paul’s church hall. The wedding dance was held in Pine Grove Pavilion.

Mr. and Mrs. Johnson left on a wedding trip to Toluca, Ill., and Milwaukee after which they will make their home in Abbotsford where the groom is working with his father in the Johnson Silo and Construction Company.

Mr. and Mrs. Sadowski went on a trip to Chicago and will reside in Hartford.
