Schmidt, Lucetta (26 DEC 1951)

In a double ring ceremony at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, on Wednesday, Dec. 26th, 1951, Miss Lucetta Schmidt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schmidt, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Edwin Wehlacz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wehlacz, Thorp. Rev. A. M. Muckerheide officiated in the 9:00 nuptial high mass.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a white satin gown with Chantilly lace long pointed sleeves, scalloped collar and bodice extending into points into the medium length train. Her fingertip veil of illusion net was held in place by a satin net cap with beaded pearl narcissus on either side. She carried a bouquet of Amazon lilies in white fern and tricatine and wore a rhinestone choker and matching earrings, gift of the groom.

The groom was attended by Clifford Schmidt, brother of the bride, as best man, Marion Teclaw, cousin of the groom, and Victor Herman Jr., nephew of the groom. All wore black tuxedos and white carnation boutonnieres.

Evelyn Schmidt, sister of the bride, was chosen as her maid of honor, with Elaine Glanz and Pauline Wehlacz, nieces of the groom, and Ann Hedler, cousin of the bride, as bridesmaids. Each wore identical gowns of deep wine velvet in princess style, with high pointed collars and long pointed sleeves. Their matching veils, spotted with rhinestones were held in place by velvet headbands and wore rhinestone chokers, gifts of the bride. They carried white fur muffs with a spray of holly on each. The little flower girl, Mary Jane Hedler, cousin of the bride, wore a white velvet dress and carried streamers of white ribbon and holly. Paul Rohde, nephew of the groom, as ring bearers, wore a junior tux and carried a pillow of white velvet and satin ribbon.

The bride’s mother and the groom’s mother each wore a navy blue dress and wore corsages of red carnations.

A reception was held at the American Legion Hall.

The happy couple will make their home in Minneapolis, where both are employed.
