Ritzschke, Ernest H. (1900? - 25 JUL 1908)

Last Saturday a very sad accident occurred at the home of Wm. Meihak in the town of Weston (Clark Co., Wis.). Ernest H. Ritzschke of Oshkosh who has been visiting at the Meihak home was playing near a horse in the barnyard. He was warned by his father to get away, but as he immediately complied the horse kicked him, striking him on the temple and breaking his neck. He died a few moments later. The little fellow was but eight years of age. The horse was not a vicious animal, but was probably bothered by the heat and flies.

The remains were taken to his home at Oshkosh Sunday for burial. The accident was a very sorrowful one, and the bereaved ones have the sincere sympathy of the entire community.
