Locals

Mrs. Ed Hoeft left Tuesday of last week for Milwaukee, having been called there by the serious illness of her son, Merlin. She remained until his death and returned here with Mr. Hoeft and H. O. Zink, who went to get the remains on Tuesday.

Mrs. George Davisson arrived from San Jose, Calif., Sunday, to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Peterson. Mrs. Davisson, who was Viola Peterson, is making her first visit home in nine years.

R. W. Hartzell left this afternoon to hunt deer with a party out of Spooner.

Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Thompson and son, Maurice, attended the birthday celebration for his mother, Mrs. Mary Thompson, at the Olin Thompson home at Rib Lake, Saturday. Mrs. Thompson was 77 years old that day.

Mrs. Edgar Sorenson, Burlington, spent Wednesday here.

Bill Steffen spent this afternoon in Wausau.

Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Bitter and two sons returned Wednesday of last week, after spending several days at Joliet, Ill. They went to attend the marriage of her cousin, Miss Evelyn Steinke, which took place at a candle light ceremony, Sunday evening, Nov. 10. Mrs. Lloyd Smith accompanied them and spent the time at Ottowa, Ill. On their return they called at the Mrs. Ed Jolivette home in Madison.

Mr. and Mrs. Leo Bauer and Miss Ruth Leichtnam visited Leonard Bauer at St. Joseph’s hosptial, Marshfield, Sunday.

Mrs. Fred Earl has as here guest from Thursday until Tuesday, her sister-in-law, Mrs. Fred Dorenburg, of Antigo.

Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Peterson had a family get together at their home, Sunday. Present were Mrs. George Davisson, of San Jose, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Engel and four children, Mrs. E. V. Daggot, Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Verland Schorer, Curtiss; and Mr. and Mrs. George Peterson, Curtiss.

Mrs. Elsie Price, Cadott, spent Saturday and Sunday with her sister, Mrs. Ed Pascoe.

Friday, Nov. 15, was health inspection day at the Riverside school. The county nurse, Miss E. Williams, of Wausau, gave a general health examination to all of the pupils. Some of the mothers that were there included Mrs. John Witte, Mrs. G. Schmitt, Mrs. A. Fitzel, Mrs. H. Cendt, Mrs. J. Hoffmann, Mrs. R. Schmitt and Mrs. W. Gasch. The teacher at Riverview is Miss Hilda Marie Kvint.
