Reusch, William (2 Apr. 1878 - 14 Nov. 1946)

A requiem High Mass was celebrated Wednesday morning for William Reusch, 68, who died as the result of an automobile accident in California last Thursday. The Rev. N. B. Beschta officiated at the mass at St. Mary’s Catholic church, at Colby, at 9:30 o’clock, and interment followed in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

The body of the deceased was accompanied from California by Joe Beyerl and brought to the Lulloff Funeral Home, Tuesday evening.

William Reusch was born April 2, 1878, in the southern part of the state and lived on a farm near Lodi for many years. Following the death of his wife, he worked for many years near Junction City and Stratford.

On July 17, 1934, he was married to Mrs. Eva Beyerl in Colby, and operated a farm in the town of Colby, which they sold two months ago.

He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. Surviving are his wife, two brothers, a sister, and one grandchild.

The accident which caused the death of Mr. Reusch, occurred last Thursday night when Mr. and Mrs. Reusch, her daughter, Miss Delores Beyerl and Martin Jacobs were returning home from a motion picture in Hawthorne, Calif., and were struck by a police squad car.

Mrs. Reusch and Martin Jacobs, are still confined to a hospital in Los Angeles. Miss Beyerl is suffering from shock and was unable to attend the funeral.

Mr. and Mrs. Reusch recently sold their farm and left with a party of nine persons for California late in September. For the past six weeks they had been living in Hawthorne where Mr. Jacobs was attending a school of chiropractic.
