Hale, Helen (28 DEC 1944)

At a nuptial high mass at St. Rita’s Catholic church in Alexandria, La., on Dec. 28, Miss Helen Hale, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arlow Hale of West Allis, became the bride of Lt. Donald L. Roth, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Roth of Loyal. Miss Bernadine Roth, sister of the groom, and Lt. Joe Stangel were the couple’s attendants.

For the occasion the bride wore a street length dress of white flannel with gold nail head trimming. Her hat was of gold sequins with shoulder veil. Long white gloves completed her costume, and she wore a gold bracelet, a gift of the groom. Her corsage was of white gardenias, and she carried a white pearl rosary.

Miss Roth chose a dress of aqua flannel, with black sequin trim, and wore a hat of black sequins, with shoulder veil. Matching aqua gloves completed her costume, and she wore a corsage of pink carnations.

The bride is a graduate of the Lincoln high school of Milwaukee and later attended the University of Wisconsin extension school and Milwaukee State Teachers college.

The groom attended St. Anthony’s Catholic school here and is a graduate of the Ellsworth high school. Prior to his enlistment in the service he was employed by the Allis Chalmers Manufacturing Co. of West Allis. He volunteered as an air cadet in the U.S. air force in June 1943, and received his training at Maxwell Field, Ala., and Elon (N. C.) college. He graduated from Advanced Navigation school at Ellington Field, Tex., and was commissioned on Nov. 4, 1944.

The newly weds will make their home in Alexandria for the present.

The Loyal Tribune joins their many friends in wishing them a long and happy journey through life.
