Haas, Marian M. (1924? - 30 March 2009)

The family of Marian M. Haas mourns the loss of their beloved mother and grandmother who passed away into the hands of her Creator on March 30, 2009.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Haas, and her eldest daughter, Sharon Olson.

She is survived by her children: Barbara (Dan) Hovendick, Kathleen Haas, Loren (Audrey) Haas, Douglas (Patricia) Haas, Mary Haas, Pamela (Lawrence) Howell, and Peggy (Todd) Snow; and seven grandchildren: Erin Hovendick Lin, Jared Olson, Stephanie Haas, Emily Haas, Meridith Haas, Meg Haas, and Greta Snow. She is also survived by two sisters and four brothers.

Marian attended Withee High School and Eau Claire Business College. She worked for Carnation and Blue Moon for six years. She created a loving home that brought her children and grandchildren back for holidays and many family gatherings. She was an avid reader and an accomplished seamstress, who also enjoyed gardening, dancing, and taking long walks.

She will be remembered for her grace and courage, gentle wit, ready laugh, empathy, and endless love. Out love for her will go on with each passing season as we reflect on fond memories.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp and inurnment followed in St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery.
