Liberty, Mary (27 DEC 1950)

Robert A. Bjornstad, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Bjornstad of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), took Mary Ann Liberty of Montello, Wis., as his bride on Wednesday, Dec. 27th, 1950 at a ten o’clock Mass in St. John’s Catholic Church at Montello.

The bride approached the altar in a fitted gown of white satin. A beaded pearl headdress held her fingertip veil in place. She carried a bouquet of red roses and white pompoms.

Serving as maid of honor for the bride was his sister, Dorothy, who was dressed in a Nile green formal with matching mitts and headband. She carried a bouquet of white carnations and pompoms.

Pierre Liberty, brother of the bride, served as best man for the occasion.

A dinner and reception was held in the church hall for friends and relatives.

The bride, a former Owen resident, was graduated from the Owen High School with the class of ’45 and from the Central State Teachers College at Stevens Point in 1948. Since then she has been employed as a teacher in the rural schools in Marquette County.

The groom, also a former Owen resident, is employed at the A. O. Smith Co. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The newlyweds are at home at 5747 North 39th St. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
