Buddenhagen, Leland W. (27 May 1918 - 28 Aug. 1989)

NEILLSVILLE, WIS. - Services for Leland W. Buddenhagen, 71, Neillsville, who died at 4:25 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville.

The Rev. Loren W. Hickerson of United Church of Christ will officiate. Organist will be Iris Musil. Burial will be in Neillsville Cemetery. Grandsons and other relatives will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday and until service time Friday at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

He was born May 27, 1918, in the town of Levis, to Elmer E. and Emelia Buddenhagen. He attended elementary school at Carlisle and graduated from Neillsville High School.

He married Vera A. Lawrence April 6, 1940, in Dubuque, Iowa.

He had worked at Martin Motors, Eau Claire. He then owned and operated Lee’s Boat Co., Neillsville, for several years. He was employed for many years at Nelson Muffler and Filter, Neillsville, retiring in 1973. He had been admitted to the hospital Friday.

He was a member of Neillsville Lodge No. 163, Free and Accepted Masons, serving for two years as worshipful master.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Sandy) Kreitlow of Neillsville and Mrs. James (Lola) Chaffin of Vesper; one son, Byrl of Neillsville; and nine grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents.
