Leach, Lucy (Marriage - 22 Sept. 1945)

Before the altar in the Methodist church at Milawaukee on Saturday, Sept. 22, marriage vows were exchanged between Miss Lucy Leach, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Leach, of Neillsville and Sgt Fred J. Gosse, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gosse, of Abbotsford, Wis.

The Rev. Nagler read the service.

For the occasion the bride wore a brown gabardine suit with yellow accessories and a corsage of yellow roses and white carnations.

Attending her was Miss Irene Felden, Milwaukee, a friend of the bride, who also wore a brown suit.

Pfc. Vernon L. Gosse, brother of the groom, now stationed at Cleveland, Ohio, was the best man.

Following the ceremony a reception was given at the home of the groom’s uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Meyers, of Milwaukee, where relatives and friends were in attendance.

Mr. and Mrs. Gosse are spending a few days in Abbotsford and Neillsville and will make their home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The groom received his discharge from the Army Air Corps at Camp McCoy on Sept. 9 with the rank of sergeant. He was in the army 38 months, two years of which he spent overseas.

He served in the 9th Air Force in the European Theatre of Operations. He has been awarded six battle participation stars, the Presidential Citation with Oak Clusters and the Good Conduct medal.
