Mueller, Verna (Marriage - 30 Sept. 1944)

To the music of Lohengrin’s Wedding March, Miss Verna Mueller, on the arm of her father, John Mueller, advanced to the high altar in St. Bernard’s Catholic church, Saturday morning at 9:30 and there met her bridegroom, Frederick Patrie, Pr. 2/c, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Patrie, Eau Claire. Marriage vows were exchanged in a double ring ceremony before the nuptial high mass, sung by the Rev. Francis Brockman. The three altars were beautifully decorated with a profusion of fall flowers and baskets of asters and fall daisies were placed on either side of the communion rail.

For the occasion the bride was gowned in white marquisette with lace trim, long sleeves and train. The long, lace trimmed veil fell from a frill of net with seed pearls. She wore a string of pearls and carried a tied bouquet of white roses.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was Miss Dorothy Patrie, sister of the groom, who wore a frock of powder blue.

Mrs. Norman Miller, sister of the bride, and Miss Dorothy Patrie, sister of the groom, of Eau Claire, attended the bride in pink frocks. All the attendants wore head veils to match, a gold cross and chain and carried bouquets of pink roses.

The best man was Tony Heffron, of Eau Claire, and Norman Miller, brother-in-law of the bride, and Milton Mueller, a brother, were ushers.

After the wedding dinner at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Mueller, which was attended by about 60 guests, and the reception, the bridal couple left on a honeymoon trip for a few days. They returned to Abbotsford and will visit here until Saturday when they will leave for New York where the groom will be reassigned. He has just returned from 20 months’ service in the Mediterranean area.

Prior to her marriage, the bride, a graduate of the Abbotsford high school, was employed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
