Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schade have received a message that their son, First Lieutenant Lester A. Schade, was a prisoner of war in the Philippines.

On April 23, 1942, word had been received that Lieutenant Schade was missing after the fall of Bataan with a possibility that he might be a "prisoner of war."

Previous to that time, the last communication Mr. and Mrs. Schade had from their son was at Christmas, 1941 when he wrote that he was well.
