Phillips, Billy T. (31 AUG 1946 - 15 DEC 1949)

At two o’clock Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 20th, funeral services were conducted from the First Congregational Church, Owen, with the Rev. W. Myron Glick officiating, for Billy Thomas Phillips, son of Doris Evelyn Phillips. Burial was made in the Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ralph Peterson, William Kivikko, Earl Schiszik and Clark Nissen.

Billy Thomas Phillips was three years, three months and sixteen days of age, having been born on Aug. 31, 1946, at San Diego, Calif. Father, Billy Thomas Sr., died may 31, 1947, in the crash of a Marine Corp. F6F fighter plane during a training flight at Buckley Field, Denver, Colo. Survivors include his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. L. S. McDonald and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Phillips.

Billy Thomas Phillips had been an invalid all of his life, having been born with a congenital heart condition. At the time of his death, he had entered the Colorado General Hospital for a fourth. However, his death occurred before it was completed.

Since the death of his father, Billy’s mother has been pursuing a course of study at the University of Denver, leading toward Personnel Management and Business Administration. She will receive her A. B. Degree this coming June, 1950.
