Hunzicker, Bobette (13 NOV 1949)

Bobette Hunzicker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vandi Shereda, became the bride of Frank E. Tormey in a quiet but lovely wedding ceremony performed in the home of the bride’s parents at two o’clock Sunday afternoon, Nov. 13th, 1949. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Dr. K. O. Crosby, pastor of St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church, Owen.

Attending the couple were Aleda Tormey, matron of honor and Cecil Tormey, as best man.

The bride was attractively gowned in a two-piece street length dress of steel blue satin, having three-quarter length sleeves, a V-neck, wide lapels and flared peplum. Her jewelry consisted of matching earrings and necklace of colored pearls, which were her mother’s. Her flowers were a lovely corsage of red roses. Her attendant wore a street length empress style dress of steel blue satin with three-quarter length sleeves and jewelry of gold earrings and a matching bracelet. Her flowers were a corsage of pink and white carnations.

The bridegroom wore a mineral grey business suit, white shirt, blue tie and a white carnation boutonniere. His best man wore a suit of navy blue, white shirt, blue tie and white carnation boutonniere.

The bride’s mother wore a street dress of navy blue with matching shoes and a corsage of pink and white carnations.

For the ceremony, the home was beautifully decorated with large occasional baskets of white carnations, yellow and white mums and talisman roses. Later a buffet luncheon was served with the bridal party’s cake being on angel food with yellow frosting.

The bride is a graduate of the Owen High School and the Eau Claire Teachers College and is well known in this community, having lived here all of her life. Mr. Tormey is a graduate of the Stanley school system and an employee of the Owen Canning Corp. The couple will make their home in Withee.
