Ure, Madge (9 December 1873 - 14 July 1951)

Mrs. George Ure of 256 S. Hewett Street died at her home at 3:15 a.m. on Saturday. The body lay in state at the Bergemann Funeral Home until Tuesday when it was taken to the Masonic Temple where services were conducted at two o’clock. Interment was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery with the Rev. William Koehler officiating.

Mrs. Ure, nee Madge Darling, born on December 9, 1873, to Mr. and Mrs. Solon Darling in the Town of Pine Valley. She spent her entire life in Clark County. She received her education in the Town of Pine Valley and La Crosse. She was a member of Carmi Chapter No. 60 of the Order of Eastern Star; the Rebekah Lodge and the Royal Neighbors of America.

On September 14, 1890, she was married to George Ure at Neillsville. Three children were born to this union two of whom survive. A daughter, Mrs. William (Vivian) Seltrecht, and a son, Melvin D. Ure, of Nelsonville, one granddaughter, Mrs. Harry Wedekind, and two great-grandchildren, Susan and James.

Her husband and one son, James, preceded her in death.
